The utilitarian transport hub of
Haymarket is best known for its station -
used, in the main, by commuters on their way to the financial
district of the West End. It's a surprise, then, to turn a
corner and confront
St Mary's Cathedral, whose triple spires
preside over a Festival programme of sacred music.
Not too many Festival visitors will venture to
Dalry ("dall-rye"), south-west from Haymarket.
Those who do will find just one major draw - the
Acoustic Music Centre, a converted church half
a mile or so from the station. |
