A smattering of venues graces the elegant streets of the
northern New Town. Bounded on the south by Queen Street
Gardens, this upscale residential zone sports wide streets,
leafy gardens, and stunning townhouses. Attractions for the
visitor are clustered around a couple of north-south
thoroughfares, and in the bustling hub of
Stockbridge.
This is, first and foremost, gallery territory. The
grandly-titled
Edinburgh Photographic Exhibition Centre is
the largest and most visible; but a hunt through the
back-streets turns up small-scale artists' collectives such as
Patriothall and the
Adam Pottery - while commercial galleries
crowd around Dundas Street. |
