City Nightclub is Fringe venue number 90 Its address is 1a Market Street, Edinburgh EH1 1DE , which is in the Waverley area of the city. See a map of this area. The venue's website is www.citypeople.info, and you can book tickets online through this website. The box office telephone number is FringeGuru's review of this venueOne of the Fringe's weirder venues - in a (relatively) good way - City Edinburgh sports all the clichés of a nightclub: chrome, oddly-coloured lighting, lots and lots of split levels and, yes, a mirrorball. But they don't let this constrain their programme, which in 2007 even dropped an old-style big band into this most modern of settings. The cabaret-style tables in front of the stage work best; the booths on the level above have a rather cramped view. Some prefer to stay at the bar and watch from the rail facing the stage. Overall, this is a chilled-out, pleasant venue, where the performers are friendly and it really is OK to get up and go to the bar in the middle of a show. Eating and drinking at this venueThe bar at the back, within easy sight and earshot of the stage, stays open for the whole performance. For such a large bar the selection's a little disappointing, though, concentrating mainly on draught lagers. Where to get tickets for this venueHere's where you can buy tickets for this venue.
