The box office telephone number is FringeGuru's review of this venueFor many, the idea of watching a comedian in a conference centre is simply bizarre. It must be cold and soulless, the argument goes; the space too massive, the performer a speck on a distant stage, relayed onto a video screen. Surely you might as well just watch it on TV? But the reality defies such pessimistic expectations. Yes, the hall is enormous, but the detail on stage is clear from the back. The rock-stadium atmosphere which greets a popular act is a worthy substitute for the buzz of a smaller venue; and the hall itself, far from soulless, is stylish and refined. Then there are the advantages of a venue actually built for the purpose: comfortable seats, arm-rests large enough for two to share, air-conditioning, and plenty of toilets. The only criticism is the sheer length of time it takes to fill and empty the hall of such a large crowd; allow at least 15 minutes after the show to actually clear the venue. Eating and drinking at this venueThe bar in the foyer copes well with the crowds, and there are some pre-packed sandwiches if you arrive ravenous. But, unusually for a Fringe venue, you can't take any food or drink into the auditorium. Where to get tickets for this venueHere's where you can buy tickets for this venue.
