Another of our award-winners from the Brighton Fringe in May, 101 is interactive theatre in its purest form.  When you step into one of 101’s short scenarios, you don’t just watch the play; you become part of it.  Guided by the cast, you’ll take a role in the developing storyline and, if you choose to, genuinely steer the plot.

101

The experience, at first, is disorienting: the door opens and you step in, with little idea of what to expect on the other side.  Together with the rest of the small audience, you’ll freely mingle with the actors, and together you’ll play out a classic theatrical scene.  Or will you?  Nobody forces you to follow the intended storyline; the actors are ready for anything, and will respond and adapt to whatever you choose to do.

It’s an intense experience, and will work best for those prepared to have a go.  But the actors do a great job of guiding you through what’s expected of you, unobtrusively leading by example as the storyline’s revealed.  You can passively comply with their directions… or, perhaps more importantly, you can rebel.  The choice is yours – and your decisions may teach you something about yourself you didn’t previously know.
