Bec Hill wants to be the girl who never grew up. Or rather, she doesn't want to lose the joy of childhood by accepting the strictures of the adult world – and, judging by her playful manga-hair appearance, she hasn't. What she has done is take that wish and build it into a genuine, affectingm and wonderfully funny stand-up show. |

Peter Campbell-Wells is a mentalist. As he says, that word used to only have one meaning... so understand that he is a performer capable of astonishing feats of mental acuity and seeming clairvoyance, that will leave you dumbfounded and scratching your head. |

This Fringe has seen something of a resurgence of recently-maligned performing arts: look at the vast number of magicians doing well this year. Indeed, on these very (web-)pages, we recently awarded five stars to a juggler. For my part, I can honestly say that I had not expected at the start of this month to be giving the top honour to what is, essentially, a mime act. |

It’s not every day that you enter a twenty-first century Italian restaurant and find yourself in an eighteenth century Florentine inn. This is just what Wonderland’s production of La Locandiera delivers, however, in an innovative and highly entertaining evening of revelry – fine wine, great food, and interesting, if unconventional, company. |

Last year Josie Long missed the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time in a decade. She says that she didn't know what to do with herself. In a way, I think the Fringe didn't know what to do without her, either; the Fringe isn't really complete without a Josie Long show. |
