Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert, Sunday 5 September, 9pm This Sunday's your very last chance to get tickets for the Edinburgh International Festival's famous end-of-season fireworks concert, which brings the curtain down on the Festival on Sunday 5 September this year. To a live orchestral accompaniment, upwards of 100,000 pyrotechnics will go up in the air in an intense, spectacular 45-minute show. ![]() Courtesy Stuart Buchanan Unfortunately, for this - the last of three ticket releases - you'll need to spend a little while waiting in line in the notorious Fireworks ticket queue. A few hardy souls turn the queue into a social occasion by camping out overnight; that isn't actually necessary, but to stand a chance of getting a ticket you will need to be in place early in the morning. The queue forms at the Hub central ticket office on the Royal Mile, and the counters themselves open at 10am this Sunday, 29 August. There's a limit of four tickets per customer. If you don't want to queue, don't despair - you can still get a great view of the fireworks without a ticket, and without spending any money at all. See our main article on the fireworks display for advice on the best viewing spots. |
