There's a little more than a week left to apply for the judging panel of the if.comeddies, the Edinburgh Fringe's world-famous comedy awards. Thanks to a competition run by Intelligent Finance and The Times, one normal punter will get a chance to have a real say in the award of this year's life-changing prize. The weirdly-named if.comeddies - previously known as the Perriers - are the Edinburgh Fringe's foremost comedy awards. With "star" comedians banned from consideration, a place on the shortlist is an almost guaranteed ticket to success for an up-and-coming act - and carries an automatic invitation to a prestigious national tour. The award panel famously sends a representative to every single eligible show listed in the Fringe programme - and with panellists expected to see six shows a day for a full two weeks, it will be a gruelling but rewarding experience for the lucky winner. To apply, you need to send a 350-word application and three sample reviews - and you have until 26th June. You can find full details on sponsor The Times's website. |
