Catriona Knox: Packed Lunch |
Published on Monday, 25 July 2011 | |||||
![]() Packed Lunch is the solo debut of Catriona Knox, one third of all-female sketch group The Boom Jennies. Fringe Guru caught the Jennies last show at the Brighton Festival and we liked what we saw. We are also particularly piqued by this offering as, if any of The Boom Jennies looked likely to strike out solo à la Cheryl Cole (although presumably without the tabloid-fodder personal life), it was Knox. She was quite clearly the stand-out performer in that show, with a nice line a psychopaths and a delicious commitment to outrageous physicality. We don't know yet whether she will sparkle as brightly without her talented team-mates, but we have high hopes. In fact, from what we've seen of her so far, this is one Edinburgh debut to catch in the hope of later claiming to have been there at the start. |
