Christmas

Christmas

Traditional markets and an icy wonderland make for a magical December.

Hogmanay

Hogmanay

At the exuberant Street Party or an intimate ceilidh, see in the New Year in style.

New Year's Day

New Year

The party's over but the fun goes on with great events to kick-start the year.

What's Hogmanay?

Hogmanay - you say it "hog-muh-NAY" - is the Scots name for New Year's Eve.  Nobody really knows where the word comes from: perhaps it means "new morning", "eighth midnight" (count them from Christmas Eve) or even our favourite, "big love day".

But whatever the language, New Year's Eve's a great excuse for a party!
