| Santa in Princes Street Gardens |
|
Sat 4 and Sun 5 Dec at 3pm, then daily 11 - 23 Dec at 4pm. Special events on Sundays from 12 Dec at 4pm. The National Galleries, The Mound See Santa for free - just turn up. Sunday events £5. Confound those fools who don't believe in Father Christmas, by catching sight of the big man on his regular trips to the Gardens. Santa visits daily at 11am and 4pm, to collect mail from the Highland Market and the skating rink - bring a letter to post beforehand, and you'll see him pick it up from his special post box. After his rounds on Sunday afternoons, Santa will repair to the cafe inside the National Galleries (enter from Princes Street Gardens), where he'll entertain children aged between 3 and 10 with stories. Tickets are £5 per child and can be bought on the day. It must be said, though, that information about this event is still a little sketchy, so we recommend checking back nearer the time for updated details. If you've seen Santa in Edinburgh before, do bear in mind that he's moved base this year. He'll now patrol round the markets and the ice rink near the Mound... he's no longer set up near the fountain. Remember - your last chance to see Father Christmas is on 23 December. He's busy elsewhere on Christmas Eve! |
