Paper Tom |

The “extraordinary and memorable” Paper Tom, which we recently reviewed at the Buxton Fringe, is coming to Edinburgh this August - combining physical theatre, multimedia and dance into an imaginative piece of storytelling.
Following the lives of two soldiers united in battle, but separated by the 100 years between First World War and present-day Afghanistan, we witness how the challenges of wartime prevail - regardless of the date. There are touching parallels between shellshock and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and greater undertones of the effects on family and love. According to our reviewer in Buxton though, the biggest feat was the use of space - which unfolds into a picture that is “both technically impressive and truly beautiful”, leaving a heart-felt resonance far beyond the theatre walls. |
