 Family-friendly. Suitable for all ages.

Magic’s moved on since we all watched Paul Daniels on TV, and the modern Fringe circuit offers more than its share of show-boating illusionists.  But in the escalating race for more blinding flashes, more thumping music and more death-defying stunts, it’s easy to sense that something’s been lost... to feel nostalgic for the gentler pleasures of yesteryear.

So step forward, Rhys Morgan and Rob West, whose own contribution to the magic of the Fringe is filled with olde-worlde delight.  It’s no secret that we’re confirmed fans of these effortlessly amiable conjurers, and their light-hearted, top-hatted, Victorian-parlour style earned five stars from us at the Edinburgh Fringe last year.  The rest of their audience seemed to concur – we know that one family queued for hours, to get the last tickets for their sold-out run at the famous Gilded Balloon.

Remarkably though, it’s the moustachioed magicians’ first trip to the Brighton Fringe, and we think they’ll prove a particular treat in the intimate setting of the Iambic Arts Theatre.  You shouldn’t expect the flashiest stunts, but you can look forward to a delightfully escapist, traditionally entertaining hour.  Book early; there may never be a better chance to catch their timeless mix of sleight of hand and bamboozling charm.
